Introducing a New Blank Designer!
I was born in Nagano which is located within the Japanese countryside and raised in the city of Osaka, Japan.
When I was a little girl I tried finding my talent by playing piano, guitar, skiing, playing basketball, making small charms and giving them to friends, writing novels, writing many poems, singing and playing my guitar.
When I was 18 I realized that being involved with any creativity makes me happy. I chose to go to Art College after my high school. I studied Illustration and Graphics for two years in College.
I started working at Home Décor Design Studio in Japan. I designed art mainly for Wall Paper and Bedding for two years.
I moved to an export textile design firm in Japan. Our customers were mainly from the USA, Canada and Australia. At the same time, I started with Illustration & Layout for a monthly magazine. I kept this work until I left Japan. I was a freelance artist until I established “Art Studio Hoodie” in 1987.
I traveled and have stayed within the USA for short times within 1975 to 1992.
I was not able to permanently move to the USA at that time because of other commitments.
The longest time I lived in the USA was 1986 to 1987 in LA and NY. Finally I could move to USA in 1993!
I started making sewing patterns at the same time the Floral Fusion group was printed with Michael Miller Fabrics 2005.
My designs for fabrics inspired me to make Bags and Aprons.
The bags and aprons I made became a line of sewing patterns. I established the business “Hoodie’s Collection LLC” in 2004.
Hoodie's Inspiration for her Morning Call Collection
We start the day from morning to night
Roosters wake with the sunrise and say "Wake up, Wake up."
I prepare to refresh my energy every morning
First of all, I put a kettle on
I prepare my coffee
I feel a little energy from the kettle steaming then the aroma of coffee
Eggs give me more energy
Fruits give me a fresh sense
"Morning Call" shows the signs of another day
Have Fun!
